Groundation feat. Mutabaruka - The Light

Some rob and steal the light As Rome was burning to the ground You say today they've gone and lost their way In search of a new Jerusalem In his heart it was a fire, burning, burning down! In his heart it was a burning fire It a go burn It a go burn, it a go burn!

Jah light cast from stars far away And the moonlight reflecting always An eternal power illuminates us all None shall escape into the shallow water below

All manners of existence among the four corners Of the world have reflected the one principle teaching That there is a light, a source, an energy! And this energy that is swirling, and circling And surrounding us, it last forever! Indeed, it has no end But for the physical, the individual, life is something Quiet different, our energy burns bright until we reach Our true potential or perhaps we fail But with time we come into great reflection What purpose do we serve and what is the right direction?

Jah light cast from stars far away And the moon light reflecting always An eternal power illuminates us all None shall escape into the shallow water below

So the question is not, does the light exist But the question really is What are we going to do with it? You see, some will come to absorb And some reflect the light, but we the elders wonder Will there be enough wisdom to keep it burning bright?

Broken in defeat Feeling empty in your heart You jump inna di quicksand yo! What's right inna your face Ya cannot see in the dark Brighten up this world Ya must find a spark! Ya cannot see the light at all Even when it's right beside them It's right next to them, Jah-Jah show them!
