Young and Wild

Wasn't too fond of that high school Except for the Friday night lights The parties and the boats I'd sit on my tailgate and stare up at the stars Just thinking how I was gonna leave my mom And college was what everyone seemed to be talking about Me, I was always a-workin' on playin' my music too loud I got around just the same Soon everywhere I went, everybody knew my name

I said, you're the one sittin' there And I'm about to start fuckin' life Half and a bottle of Jack and a little bit of Marijuana Takin' everyone down to the creek The Jacks and the Hippies, the cool kids and their friends Never too far from that riverside Without a hesitation livin' young and wild

Yet I still go back to my home, fishin' home 'Cause back there in the middle of the flood zone Somewhere alone that I don't feel in love Ain't exactly what them storybooks tell you are I'm the son of a workin' man Sooner or later, I'll inherit a car and a stain I've been tryin' to grow up too fast since my life began Now I'm just trying to stay as young for as long as I can

So I'll run to that district's parking lot They have a bottle of Jack and a little bit of Marijuana They're taking everyone down to the creek The Jacks and the Hippies, the cool kids and their friends Never too far from that riverside Without a hesitation livin' young and wild
