Molly Burch - Unconditional

I chase the feeling of being your favorite That's why even when it hurts, I'll stay on Like it's my calling I'm holding out for you to realize we're a team I'm your Marilyn, you're the silver screen And you can hardly believe

I remember everything you tell me To impress ya, I hope it's working Now we have these inside feelings You can tell me all your secrets I can be the one who consoles you When you feel like you're just a nobody We can conquer the world together Until you think you found someone better, better

And now you're gone, I have to move on It wasn't unconditional I'm right, you're wrong, and time will unfold And I'm like barely hanging on I'm gonna need a minute, maybe more than that To mourn this fantasy I had You'll go, and I'll stay, pretend it's okay It wasn't unconditional, yeah

I'm the one you text when you're lonely Until you find another, then I'm ghosted To be honest

But I'm the one who cleans up your messes I'm the cure to your seasonal depression I'm the fun idea 'til commitment I know you think you tried, but you didn't, didn't

And now you're gone, I have to move on It wasn't unconditional I'm right, you're wrong and time will unfold And I'm like barely hanging on I'm gonna need a minute, maybe more than that To mourn this fantasy I had You'll go, and I'll stay, pretend it's okay It wasn't unconditional

Oh, remember when your mom said she liked me? Oh, baby, I, I know you know this could be exciting No, I'm not asking you for help Anymore, just looking out for myself, yeah
