Somewhere - Vincent Lima

She's older now than her mother was at her wedding But she's younger than she feels she's ever been She said, "I've seen the hills they're much too tall for a twenty-something girl And mama, womanhood's been hard to settle in"

But I'm on my way to somewhere, I swear I'm on my way to somewhere, I swear I'm on my way to somewhere with someone and someday You'll see me and be proud of where I've been

He's older now than his father was when he moved out He feels sheltered and ashamed of who he's been He said, "I've seen the hills they're much too tall for a twenty-something boy And father, manhood's just been hard to settle in"

But I'm on my way to somewhere, I swear I'm on my way to somewhere, I swear I'm on my way to somewhere with someone and someday You'll see me and be proud of where I've been

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh You'll see me and be proud of where I've been

On the first step of their journey they crossed paths then Each saw themselves in the way the other stepped She said, "I've seen your eyes, they look like mine, they're scared of what's ahead But maybe you're the someone for that"

Let's run away to somewhere together Let's run away to somewhere ahead We'll conquer every hilltop and someday we'll slow up To turn around and be proud of where we've been

We'll turn around and be proud of who we've been
