I OUGHTA KNOW BETTER

Come on Let's go

4:42, Friday afternoon I tell you, man, I was about done It'd been a hard week, worked off my feet And I was ready to get back home

My phone started buzzin' My buddy was wonderin' what I was doin' after work He said, "Me and the boys are down at the bar" Well, I guess one drink won't hurt

I oughta know better One turned into two, then four Next, we're doin' doubles on a hardwood floor Blowing our money, making buddies with the bartender

I oughta know better Last call and the sun come out Stumblin' all the way back to my house Findin' that couch, and passin' out on the leather

Yeah, I oughta know what was gonna happen When you made that call 'Cause it goes down every time we're together I oughta know better Yeah, I oughta know better

Me and my girl were three years steady and said We're 'bout done with that crowd So, let's just stay home, watch Bridget Jones And cuddle up on the couch

Well, I turned down the lights, she poured the wine And put a glass in my hand Man, that first sip of red went straight to my head And we started changin' plans

I oughta know better One turned into two then four Next, we're doin' doubles on a hardwood floor Blowing our money, making buddies with the bartender

I oughta know better Last call and the sun come out Stumblin' all the way back to my house Findin' that couch, and passin' out on the leather

Yeah, I oughta know what was gonna happen When you made that call 'Cause it goes down every time we're together I oughta know better

Yeah, baby Yeah, four turns to five and five turns to seven Next, I'm with the band singing Stairway to Heaven Well, seven turns to eight, wait, I think it was nine Man, this happens every goddamn time

So, I oughta know better One turned into two then four Next, we're doin' doubles on a hardwood floor Blowing our money, making buddies with the bartender, come on

I oughta know better Last call and the sun come out Stumblin' all the way back to my house Findin' that couch, and passin' out on the leather

Yeah, I oughta know what was gonna happen When you made that call 'Cause it goes down every time we're together I oughta know better

Yeah, man I oughta know better Ah, one more time (woo) Yeah, it happens every time we're together I oughta know better
